Johanna is an entrepreneur who manages a successful restoration company - Reliable Restorations based in Charlotte, NC. She has three grown children and she has been married to a love of her life for 28 years now. But the journey to get where she is today hasn’t been easy. Read a brief interview below where Johanna shares her story.
Can you share a situation in life that helped you to grow into a strong confident woman?
I got pregnant when I was 15 and had a baby right before I turned 16. I moved to the States with my husband when I was 18 with a little kid and no English. We didn’t know anyone here. I was a young mother in a different country without family support.
What is a confident woman for you?
Some times we tend to put obstacles on ourselves based on external voices. As a confident woman you need to look deep inside yourself and see who you are and what you have inside of you regardless of what is out there. No-one is responsible for your life and your choices other than you.
What is the source of your inner strength?
My faith in Christ is where my strength come from. Being an entrepreneur, mom, daughter, wife, friend there is a lot of ups and downs. At times my husband lets me down, my kids let me down, my mom lets me down and I let them down too because we are all imperfect. But regardless of everything I am perfect for Christ.
What could you advise for women who go through struggles now?
Don’t give up. Be kind with yourself. As women we can be hard on ourself striving to be a perfect mom, wife, daughter, etc... Don’t let this imperfection be down on you. Be kind with yourself.
How was your photoshoot experience?
First time I have done something like this. I really enjoyed it!
Throughout the photoshoot I need to be kind with me knowing that I don’t have perfect skin, hight, body but its me and I need to love myself.
