I met Gris through networking. She is a CEO of Latin American Chamber of Commerce in Charlotte, an attorney, a teacher, a mom to two sons, a wife, and a spiritual warrior! I am so honored that she chose to participate in a Confident Woman campaign and share a bit of her story with us!
Why were you interested to participate in a confident woman campaign?
I have always seen myself as a confident woman. Even at my lowest point that’s what got me through life. Fake it till you make it. I have done it a lot. I have been in places where I haven’t been confident but I always see myself as a confident woman.
What was the biggest achievement in your life that proved that confidence and inner strength are essential?
I would say the birth of my sons. I had two boys back to back. They were 15 months apart. And my ideology of confident mom was shaken. Confident mom was the mom who is there for her kids, for naps, meals, waking them. That was my idea of a confident mom. But I was working, being on an airplane. I missed waking up with them. 2-3 days that I wasn’t there with them it was hard. But when I saw them during a week - it was special.
Knowing that I can do it all made me confident. I can be a mom, and I can be a successful woman in a workforce.
What is a confident woman for you?
Someone who dares to be different, who dares to create her own experiences, someone who dares to go after what she wants. This is a woman that can challenge the status quo and who dares to create her own story.
What would be your advise to women who go through struggles?
I am very spiritual and I would advise them to pray about it. Through prayer you find your inner self.
How was your photoshoot experience?
I loved the energy in the room and the conversation we had around the topic of what it is to be a confident woman. I love how easy you made me comfortable right away! The poses are not necessarily comfortable but you made me feel comfortable. You gave me direction how to pose and it was fun.
